You can share your story with us! And I don't mean the plot of your story, although you're welcome to do that too... I mean the story of how you lived through November.
It doesn't matter whether you think you're a Super Noob, you think you have no particular strategy or technique, or think you're the best of the class: everyone who takes part in NaNoWriMo leaves with something

1: Prologue

What gave you the idea for your novel this year?

Dreams, Kpop, need to spend time in Hongdae – how we handle and feed off emotions

 

2: Introduction

What made you decide that that story idea was the RIGHT IDEA?

It felt right ? … I was so overly excited at the prospect of writing about a bad boy (who ended up quite toned down)

 

3: A Lil'Bit of Plot

How much plot building did you do before November? Did it help you, or could you have survived without?

I had the basics; Rieul (the kpop band leader) was a womanizer having his heart split between a Chinese prostitute and the mother of the youngest member in his band // and Demon (the agwi or hungry ghost) was ready to cheat and hack to keep his “bowl of rice” (a human in love and thus emanating happy energy) around to have a steady source of food

 

4. A Lil'Bit of Action

What is your favourite part of the writing process? The action scenes, the dialogues, the descriptions... so much to choose from!

The description of emotions, the setting, the subtle imagery

 

5. A Lil'Bit of Conflict, too

When/how did you decide what the central conflict of the novel would be? Everything eventually comes back to it, doesn't it?!

It came naturally as I wrote about Rieul; he lost his family in a house fire when in grade school – that triggered a death in him, a cold, he filled the emptiness with superficial pleasures

 

6. The Obstacles

What was the most difficult part of your NaNoWriMo this year?

I found myself being only able to truly tap in with my muse in my daily commute (bus rides) and desperately dry and distracted while facing the computer… I did skip quite a few stops, re-ran quite the trips to get more writing time ^^

 

7. The Victors    

And what was the easiest?

Oddly – Rieul; he’s not technically the main character… the main was supposed to be Shinjae (the agwi) and Illy but eventually it became Rieul and Mrs. Lee (his 40+ year old mistress)

 

8. Finishing The Puzzle

Did you tie all your loose ends, or leave space for a sequel?

Not even finished the story – but it dawned upon me how I could tie this year’s novel to last year’s story and I nearly lost my shit when I realized this

 

9. Epilogue... or is it?

Did NaNoWriMo scare you off the wagon... or will you do it again next year?

Dude, hell yeah !! next year I already know what I will write about inspired by kpop singer GDragon’s song Coup d’État – a woman with ovarian cancer is given a short amount of time; she goes to Korea to hopefully die there, but finds love and a reason to live; that is the second coup d’état (the cancer being the first – as her cells rebel against her; she finds something to fight back against the death sentence)

 And if you still wonder -- here is the cast and a little insight on the plot

The Agwi - Shinjae (a good one) , the radio show producer (blinded by her hunger) ,  Undefined yet (very friggin' nasty and strong one)

Dobbaeki - the Kpop band
Rieul - the leader (finds comfort in Mrs. Lee's arms)
Shadow ~ the bridge and counselor between members; Dream's best friend
Dream (son of a Gumiho)
Monk ~ most handsome but lives a dangerous double secret life - he's married
Hieut ~ the youngest (he lusts after Rieul, but Rieul is very satisfied with his mother)

Illy - the westerner girl who serves as nuricious rice to Shinjae (he feeds off her happy emotions) and has a sincere love interest in Dream

and i sort of delayed it a long bit because i wanted something special for my 10 random and I couldn't think of interesting stuff .... but here I am

1 - both my tattoos were inked on the birthdays of the two ppl who's names i have on my sides
2 - I crossed the world to get my second tattoo (but considering where the first shop was - it ain't exactly in my hometown neighborhood)
3 - in both cases - there was a cute incident related to cold : the first time around. In the first, one the artists left the back door open and we were in February (making my artist shout at him "ferme la porte, fait frette dans la shop!" which made me laugh so much! In the second one, the studio's window was open, my artist been working on me for some hours - and I was shivering. He called the boss (owner) who brought in a mobile heater and set it up at my opposite side to warm me up a bit
4 - with my first artist i kept pulling my light grey shirt over my half tank top when ever we had breaks (2 or 3 of them) and regularly updating my Facebook. With the second artist, I took off my t shirt, paraded half naked in the shop and let him put his arm where ever he wanted for comfort of work while inking.
5 - In the first shop, I was the quiet shy girl sitting on the lobby's couch like a lost grade school kid. In the second shop, I was standing in the lobby area, standing after my stencil was placed, still half naked, watching Korean telly. The other artist came in from groceries - saw me - i greeted him in Korean (Annyeonghasseyo) with a smile and he looked traumatized but I was so relaxed and at ease, for me it was the most natural thing.
6- both tattoos are flowers with a man's name. the first is a red lily with the name Thomas William Hiddleston and the second is a red rose with the name Kim JongHyun (i commissioned the font creator to custom make me the name in his font - Brother Tattoo - which i used for the first)
6 - I actually tweeted a cropped version of the rose tattoo to JongHyun. I didn't show Tom his name tattooed.
7 - I had terrible nightmares where I was attacked by a severely pissed off ghost when I got Tom's name (in the weeks prior to the tattoo). I had absolutely no nightmare what so ever not even a hint of a trace of a ghost before i got JongHyun's
8 - I wanted tattoos since I was 8-9 years old. When i first learned how to use photoshop in 2001 during my graphic design course, I put flowers on my sides, mimicking tattooos
9 - my first tattoo lasted 3 hours with 2-3 breaks and the chemistry was nice but nothing spectacular. My second tattoo lasted 5 hours or a bit more, chemistry with my artist was incredible - level of intimacy, comfort and trust through the roof to the point where near the end, when he used a last spray of water to clean my side - my body reacted under the cold surprise of water as it would have under another sort of stimuli which surprised my artist and made me smile with embarrassment but I didn't apologize. 
10 - I spent my time during the first tattoo having random images of the Ice Age movies in my head (more precisely in the 4th, Continental drift, where Sid shouts something about a crab). During my second tattoo, I kept having roses bloom in my mind for the first greater deal of time and then i sort of drifted towards adult thoughts concerning my artist. (which also explains my reaction to his cold water spray wash at the end)

In the beginning - deviant art scared me. I will be blunt honest with you guys. When i first discovered deviant art in the early 2000's and I saw all that great art floating around, i felt intimated and not worthy of joining. My friend Dominic was already on it with quite simplistic Photoshop blending/merging of images but I felt for me it was yet inadequate to join and share my crappy skills.

Some years passed by and I had time to forget about deviantart like I can about many sites that I stumble on, explore and let be on the big wide Internet.

And then eventually, I felt ready. I had remembered and I felt comfortable enough to come  back and throw my little rowboat in the vast ocean of dA and maybe see how fart it would take me.

My first account was with the name Ailime. Ailime is my real name Emilia spelled backwards. It was my internet identity from 2000's or maybe even before until this new current one.


My earliest works were with Illustrator and hotoshop, but I also tackled a bit of Fractal Explorer and two other little programs that were running around in 2003-4-5 ish and very rare hand drawn manga styled girl portraits. I felt proud with those works and seeing -- no, more like, being surrounded by other immensely skilled and talented artists inspired me to go beyond my then skills and explore new avenues, push the envelope as they say.


this was one of my early pieces that i will eventually revamp -- It was inspired by Rihanna's Umbrella song wich was me and my best friend's theme song.


this was one of those pieces i was also pretty damn proud of! the original inspiration was based off a pixel doll who itself if i remember correctly was the fan art of a painting ... the doll owner was contacted by email and I had asked her permission and she had granted it to me


I also tackled icons at some point - I had this and a halloween series. But someone has decided to thieve them and put them on their blog for download without my knowledge and permission and I decided I wouldn't anymore - for a long time - make and share icons.


and then the Puffies ruled the world



And then there was this wave of porn on dA - naked lady asses with water droplets, cow sized boobs ( i guess it was the Chinese year of the bull or cow because every 2nd piece on the front page was a female dressed as a cow giving milk to the viewer) and I dare not mention the leaking vagina and ass holes (like rectum) shots where the light and shadows made something primitive a piece of art. So ailime went on a witch hunt mode with yearly if not more regular news entries about the most fabulous discoveries around deviant art.

In 2009 - I had a college graduation gift from a dear friend, who took me 2 weeks to Ireland to tour it. In a little village called Doolin, in county Claire (where the cliffs of Moher are) I took pics of cows and more precisely cow tits - put them on dA - was deemed a troll.

Troll Zemimsky came back. Because ailime had closed off her account - deleted - adios muchachos - see you in hell type of no coming back deal. Yes i left deviant art. For a good 2 years I think ? In the beginning it was hard but I learned to manage and i turned to facebook and zynga games.

and some stock   i had created these for Walpurgis night poster and deemed them worthy of share with the community 


In 2013 - I fell in love with a kpop idol and I was inspired to craft him something special : first time I tackled real concrete arts vs digital. I didn't send him because - I didn't find a valid shipping address and I don't know how presents are ... treated in the kpop world - if they are given in hands to the persons they are destined to or monitored and ... not given to them. It was still a beautiful and very enriching experience!

And all of a sudden, it was 2014 and I had to celebrate! Evidently since I had fallen whole heartedly into the Asian side of life, the Chinese horoscope was my new language. Also an excellent occasion to revamp Sybi and push her to the next level ! I sent this to my fave kpop idols on february 14 with a massive typo in it ! I forgot the O in Lovey Dovey day (so it spelled have a wonderful lvey dvey day xD or something like that) and I realized it After I had pushed the send button! so, JongHyun (SHINee), Zico and P.O. (from Block B) are blessed with a fan's natural ability with typos - of love.


Then Jongie had his radio show and I had to kawaii him up ! the original poster is actually vertical and I might re-work it a bit before sharing. I also plan an illustration with him in the studio room.

And I shall conclude this chapter with my beloved lil bundle of joy - my OC - my muse - my silliness incorporated with wings -
