Once upon a time, this present girl used to draw characters that in her world, are called Puffies. They are round and jolly, and silly and have their own individual characters and mostly their lives revolve around that - like the Smurfs or any good cartoon show.
When I am uber inspired by something, I "puffy" it. They are my OCs and my way of making jokes, sceneries, short stories and scenarios.
[ Skipping a few chapters here ]
Last week end, January 20, 21st, I was on MSN with a girl friend I met at a previous job and I showed her links to my previous works. She loved them and she wanted a cat. I normally do NOT do real existing things, I precised that to her. I am somehow, incapable of drawing real references. I mean even a frigging bottle of vine is a challenge as big as the Himalaya to me ! So I warned her. I would do her a cat, but it will be up to my standards ! Purple, blue, pink and green !
I was suddenly inspired again, after oh so long a time where I wasn't. (I had a long depression which deprived me from being creative, willed to do anything and move on with my art -- not sure it's fully gone, but I have meds to work on it)
In about 2 nights and a full day of work, I worked out the Version one, which compared to the sketch, looked like a transvestite cat rather than the soft fluffy female kitten I wanted to draw. She still absolutely loved it though ! She was so surprised and in awe that I picked up her fave colors without really knowing them - by intuition.
Almost a week later, I spent another full night on it (and maybe 3/4 of a day) to render a version 2 which is what you see here !
And this time, I'm proud with the result. Proud enough to share it here. That was always a thing that ... guided me. If I am not proud enough, I will not upload.
I have 7 versions - so you have some chances of finding your liking. Standard and Widescreen are included.
Layers
Tooooooooo friggin' much, even if I grouped them
Side Note Drama
At some point I thought I had lost the original PSD file, because I was cleaning the PNG from the fluff around the cat, and I saved it as a .psd and totally freaked out because I thought I had replaced my original 10 000 layered work with this and I was about to cry ! I thought it was a sign, not to come back, not to share, not to do such complicated works, but i opened my folder and my original file was there !! The second one was saved as the same title-png.psd -- You can't imagine the relief I felt !
Final memo
Design will shortly be available on Zazzle, Redbubble and such - I will update the links
Thank you for your kind attention and Congratulations if you have survived this !
